During these hours, we are here to help if you have sudden, urgent eye problems that need to be assessed.

These include, for example:

• severe eye pain
• a sudden deterioration in vision
• acute inflammation or injuries

To ensure we can help patients with acute problems quickly, this consultation is reserved exclusively for such urgent cases, as only the most essential examinations and treatments are carried out here.

For routine check-ups, long-standing symptoms or non-urgent matters, please make an appointment.

You are welcome to use the online booking service via Arzt-direkt for this purpose.

If you are already under the care of an ophthalmologist, please continue to contact your regular practice. This will help avoid unnecessary duplicate examinations and ensure your treatment continues smoothly.

In urgent ophthalmological emergencies outside of consultation hours, please call the Ophthalmological Emergency Service on 116 117. This service is available on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.

Please bear in mind that, for certain vision problems, additional measurements (e.g. measuring the axial length of the eye for myopia management) may be necessary; these are not covered by statutory health insurance. Please also note that eye drops will be administered during the appointment, which will temporarily impair your child’s vision afterwards.

The ‘Plus-Optix’ examination provides us with additional information about your child’s eyes when the pupil is constricted. We also always recommend an Optomap examination of the retina, both to rule out pathological changes and to digitally document the images.
